Hi! My name is Maddie Dawson and I am a junior majoring in Communication at UMD. I am planning to graduate a semester early in December of 2015. I chose to advocate for #stoptheselfie because I see younger girls struggling from self-esteem issues. I have a lot of younger cousins and I see them posting selfies and pictures, only for the satisfaction of getting likes. I also see them missing out on fun or important experiences because they are bust taking pictures or texting/tweeting. I hope to bring awareness to this issue to promote self-esteem in young girls!
